Tungsten Carbide (TC) is one of the most versatile materials available for wear parts. It gives the following benefits:
· High hardness and mechanical strength
· Superior wear resistance
· Good corrosion resistance
· Easily withstands abrasive services
· (Good fracture toughness)
Two primary grades of tungsten carbide are available - Nickel bonded TC and Cobalt bonded TC:
· 6% Nickel bonded TC, gives enhanced corrosion resistance
· 6% Cobalt bonded TC, provides higher hardness and better abrasion resistance
